With all the chocolate, candy bars and junk foods available in almost all corners of this world, is it really hard to imagine that kids nowadays are considered fat?

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 22 million children under the age of five nationwide are overweight. Meanwhile, in Australia, only 7.9 percent are considered overweight children by their parents. But in a recent health survey, the figure is said to be higher than 7.9 percent as a quarter of Aussie children, ages 2 to 12, are overweight or even obese.

Obese People Can Be More Susceptible To Swine Flu

Extreme obesity (BMI over 40) is said to be raising people’s chances of getting swine flu, or the dreaded A(H1N1) virus.

A study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, looked at ten victim of swine flu. The study found out that three of the ten died, and two of the ten were obese (BMI between 30 to 40). Also, seven of the ten swine flu cases were extremely obese (their BMI is over 40), which accounts for two of the three reported deaths.
