Most women, when they have problems with their careers or love life, turn to chocolates to bring some pick-me-up. Studies say that the serotonin in the chocolate makes it a mood-enhancer. But a new research has just found out that there’s a link between chocolates and depression.

The research, which was made by Dr. Natalie Rose of UC San Diego and UC Davis, was published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. It said that out of the 1,018 people who took part in the study, those who were judged to have possible depression and consumed an average of 11.8 ounces of chocolate per month also scored highly in the depression scale.

In a surprising twist of event, I will post a recipe here so decadent you think looking at it is a sin to heaven and all the angels. The Brigaderio is Brazil’s most popular dessert. It is named after Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes—a Brazilian leader who ran for president in the 1940s. During his campaign, women volunteers raised money by selling chocolate balls made of condensed milk. They called the balls Brigaderios.

Ingredients:

1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 stick of butter
2 tablespoon chocolate drink powder
Chocolate sprinkles, mini M&Ms, coconut (optional)

* In heavy saucepan, mix chocolate with condensed milk, stirring constantly under low heat. Add butter to mixture.
