This is the ultimate adult dessert. It has alcohol content in it (though not enough to get you drunk), as well as it has that valued sweetness we can only get from chocolates.

Ingredients:

3 1/4 cups crushed vanilla wafers

3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

3 tablespoons light corn syrup

1/2 cup rum

I am one of the few people who actually love Reese’s peanut butter cups. I’m not a fan of peanut butter, but combine them with chocolate and I am all yours. This recipe differs from ordinary peanut butter cups in such a way that the inner peanut crust found in Reese’s is placed outside this cup while the rich chocolate will act as filling.

Workers of the Swiss chocolate maker Barry Callebaut is said to have invented a low-calorie type of chocolate bar. Codenamed “Vulcan,” the new chocolate was only discovered by accident.

“Suddenly we realised we’d produced a very special chocolate, of a crispy, light consistency, like an airy foam, and we thought let’s see if we can develop this further,” food engineer Simone Cantz said.

Vulcan contains 90 percent less calories than regular chocolate, but has a higher melting point of 131 degrees Fahrenheit compared with regular chocolate that has a melting point of 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Barry Callebaut is hoping worldwide chocolate markets will be receptive of this new low-calorie candy.
