
My cousin will always put soy sauce in any food she eats. Whether it may be fried, sautéed or what not, she would knowingly pour soy sauce over it to give it “more taste” while the health conscious part of me would scream at her for eating “too salty.”
But just recently, scientists found out that adding soy sauce to food can reduce its salt content without necessarily sacrificing the flavor. Substituting soy sauce to salad dressings and soup can drop the food’s salt content from 17 percent to up to 50 percent.
