When buying artichokes, make sure to go for those with tight leaves, taut skin and heavy feel. They usually last until two weeks although the sooner you eat them, the fresher they will taste.

Here are some recipes you can do with artichokes: Artichokes with Mint and Chilies, Baby Artichokes, Sicilian Style, Marinated Baby Artichokes, Artichokes Basted with Anchovy Butter, Grilled…

Not for religious reasons though, but for dietary reasons, and the simple fact that most shoppers believe Kosher is good for their health.

According to a market research, sales of Kosher foods actually reached $12.5 billion in 2008—an increase of 64 percent since…

We always think that eating only fruits and vegetables will help us combat numerous illnesses and diseases. Well, these two—fruits and vegetables—don’t have that much nutritious benefits as what we usually thought.

A study of 478,000 participants found that for every two servings of fruits and vegetables eaten a day, only a paltry three percent were able to decrease chances of cancer. Researchers also said that aside from only eating fruits and vegetables, there are other factors that contributed to the three-percent decrease in cancer risk—those are exercise, lower smoking rates and less red meat consumption.

I am one of the few people who actually love Reese’s peanut butter cups. I’m not a fan of peanut butter, but combine them with chocolate and I am all yours. This recipe differs from ordinary peanut butter cups in such a way that the inner peanut crust found in Reese’s is placed outside this cup while the rich chocolate will act as filling.

This recipe is from Taste of Home.

Ingredients:
(makes about 6 large cups or 12 mini cups)

For peanut butter shells

4 tablespoons butter, softened

6 tablespoons brown sugar

2 1/2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy works best)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup flour

For filling

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

2 tablespoons milk (I used whole milk)

1 tablespoon peanut…

There are about a hundred varieties of lentils, ranging from yellow to orange, red to green and brown to black. They are used around the world, but are more popular in Eastern Europe and India.

Lentils are very rich in protein, folic acid and both soluble and insoluble dietary fiber. They…
