If you’re drinking lots of citrus juices, tea and soda, you’re bound to have teeth erosion in the future. Teeth erosion means the slow process of your teeth enamel wearing away.

But how do you stop such catastrophe? Well seriously, all you have to do is stop drinking those things that are bad for your teeth (I suggest preventing yourself from reaching towards a cup of flavored and colored liquids). In an article published in the journal General Dentistry, researchers are saying that the amount of erosion is caused by beverages like soda, water, orange juice and green tea.

To know what exactly is affecting your teeth, you better consult a dentist…

A common misconception about pregnancy is that pregnant women cannot exercise because they will be jeopardizing the lives of their unborn child. But the truth is, aside from stressful exercises, physical activities are actually good for pregnant women since it creates an intensified relationship with your hormones.

Here are some more good reasons why it’s even “best” for women to exercise during their pregnancy:

• During labor you can concentrate on enjoying the process in the knowledge that your body isn’t going to give up on you.
• Your body’s going to bounce back a lot more quickly after all the fun’s over with.
• You won’t feel or look like a beached whale…

With all the chocolate, candy bars and junk foods available in almost all corners of this world, is it really hard to imagine that kids nowadays are considered fat?

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 22 million children under the age of five nationwide are overweight. Meanwhile, in Australia, only 7.9 percent are considered overweight children by their parents. But in a recent health survey, the figure is said to be higher than 7.9 percent as a quarter of Aussie children, ages 2 to 12, are overweight or even obese.

The survey also found out that parents are more inclined to focus on their daughters than their sons as figures pointed…

For some, there’s nothing that can beat a hefty cup of chicken cream soup or ice cream when they are depressed. They are the ultimate comfort foods. But when down, I have always been comforted by a plate of pasta, particularly carbonara with crispy bacon for toppings.

Here’s a twist from the classic carbonara recipe from Jamie Oliver:

Ingredients: (serves 4)

6 medium zucchini
1 pound penne
5 egg yolks
2 good handfuls of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
12 thick slices of bacon or pancetta, cut into thick lardons
5-6 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves removed
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Procedure:

1. Bring a large pot of salty water to boil. Cook the penne until al dente.

2. In…

Eating disorders are most commonly associated with teenagers (what with the constant reminder for us to be model-thins, I doubt if you’re not somehow affected by it), but recent studies are finding out that anorexia and bulimia are becoming more and more common in middle-aged people.

“[The] Remuda Ranch Treatment Programs in Wickenburg, Ariz … had a 400 percent increase in admissions of patients 40 and older since the late 1990s,” the New York Times was quoted.

The cause probably comes from the fact that middle-aged persons with eating disorders took long enough to discover their illnesses. But researchers are also saying that the obsession to be thin is also what’s causing…

Ever tried eating sushi, maki and sashimi without the wasabi? It lacks some serious flavor and punch doesn’t it? Spiciness after all doesn’t only come from capsaicin-based wonders as the roots of horseradish or Japanese horseradish, most commonly known as wasabi gives an exploding flavor of heat that keeps you coming back for more.

Where can we use this horseradish? You can stir it into sour cream, soups, Bloody Mary or even roast beef. Freshly frated horseradish are even more flavorful than canned and process ones so if you have the time and energy to make your own wasabi, do some horseradish grating. The finer the root is grated or chopped,…

Talks of eating healthily and cutting in on your food binges got me wondering what possibly could our body do to prevent eating when it is so much more satisfying than anything in this world. Then, I stumbled upon this article that says we can use our senses to fight overeating.

It is not that we crave automatically for sweets but our taste buds do. So the next best thing to do is to incorporate some sweetness in our main dishes so there’ll be no more need for us to order desserts.

And because we can’t avoid smelling certain things (especially those grilled burgers and fries), we can try taking a different…

I’m not that much of a lemonade drinker. But as summertime is now here, I’d rather binge on fruit-based drinks than colas. So in the interest of trying to find the perfect summertime drink, let’s move on to our first recipe. The Cherry Lemonade is a fusion of crushed cherries and your ordinary and basic lemonade syrup.

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6 large lemons)
6 cups cold water
1/2 pound cherries, pitted and halved

So you though that by cooking chicken without any seasoning (i.e. salt, pepper, etc), you’re actually eating healthy? Just because there’s no trace of salt in your chicken doesn’t mean there’s no sodium content in it.

In the poultry industry, the widespread practice of injecting raw chicken with saltwater solution during processing has been performed for years. Manufacturers are saying that this makes for a tastier and juicier chicken meat.

A raw chicken breast contains as little as 50 to 75mg of sodium per 4 ounce serving. But saltwater-infused chicken are reported to have over 400mg of sodium per serving. It’s a little unsettling that supposed low-sodium content chickens are now infused…
