Salads are usually eaten to lose pounds and shed some weight. But if you’re dressing them with creamy concoctions, this might actually add in more pounds than you actually want.

To break that monotony of raw green and leafy vegetables, here are some tips for a healthy and flavorful salad dressing:

* Salsa – you can mix in some tomatoes, onions and mango for that perfect tangy flavor.

2. Make your own packaged food – when you have some time, cook foods that you can preserve by freezing. Instead of buying unhealthy frozen foods, make your own.

If you live in an extremely hot climate, you should add several more ounces of water a day. One easy way to include more water in your diet is to slice lemons, limes or oranges in a pitcher of water, let it sit for one hour or so then drink the pitcher of water throughout the day. The flavor of the water will remain naturally flavored, so…

Most elementary schools in the United States have standard time when it comes to eating and playing—a 50-minute lunch break followed playing outside. But at the Sharon Elementary School in New Jersey, they have found a way to push kids to eat more vegetables, drink more milk and waste less food.

They said that by putting recess before lunch, it will mean fewer visits to the school nurse for head and bellyaches. It also means there will be 15 minutes more extra instruction time per day.

Kids who are not rushing outside to play will have more time to sit down on their lunches while they can also release pent-up energy by…
