Salad Dressing Alternatives

Salads are usually eaten to lose pounds and shed some weight. But if you’re dressing them with creamy concoctions, this might actually add in more pounds than you actually want.

To break that monotony of raw green and leafy vegetables, here are some tips for a healthy and flavorful salad dressing:

* Salsa – you can mix in some tomatoes, onions and mango for that perfect tangy flavor.
* Wasabi – combine this with light soy sauce, olive oil and lemon juice, and you’ve got yourself a spicy dressing with just the right kick of saltiness.
* Hummus – it adds even more protein to your salad, especially if you don’t have meat or chicken on them.
* Avocado – dice them into tiny pieces and toss them with your salad.
* Lime, lemon, tangerine and grapefruit juice – this little mix will add that incredible sour flavor that is perfect with fresh lettuces and the like.

Salad dressings actually depend on how you like your vegetables to taste. You can prefer them to have a spicy, salty or sweet flavor. What matters though is that you make sure you don’t out in too much calories in your dressings.
