You Can't Beat Sweet Beets!

Before we begin, I must say that in order to appreciate sweet beets, you must not try those that comes in cans but buy fresh sweet beets from the market. The earthy flavor and heartiness of fresh sweet beets will make you crave for more.

Orange beets are not exactly that popular compared with the red beets, but atleast the orange beets does not stain your kitchen counter like the red beets do. In order to peel the skin from the orange beets, you need to bake them for more than an hour. That makes for easy peeling.

By then, you can try sauteeing the beets with grapeseed oil, couscous, agave nectar and rice wine vinegar to make a satisfying sweet beets dish. Vegetarians would absolutely love these kind of dishes. And because recipe like this tastes good even cold or hot, there’s no need for you to finish off one serving if you’re not up to it.

Rediscovering the usage and flavor of veggies like beets makes for a satisfying past time at a day like this. Especially because I’m trying to eat healthier foods now, finding something like this is a treasure for most vegetarians, or at least those trying to be veggie-eaters.
