It’s human nature for us to eat what our friends have also decided on having for lunch or even dinner. I have always been a victim of ordering the exact same thing as my friend does. So it goes to show that women (even men) bond the best over a basket of french fries and chicken wings.
A new study published in Appetite confirms that the people around us influence the way we eat, and what we eat. In a study of college students, it was found out that women eat food with lesser calories when they are in the company of guys. And they eat even less when more men are around them. But when women are with their girlfriends, the study found that they tend to forget about “dieting,” and take in more calories than they should.
Despite this study, however, there is still reason to believe that generations of today have started to neglect their health, and are more inclined to eat foods that are not good for them. The lesson, of course, is always moderation. Learn to moderate these things in your life and you will find it easy to break free from food binging.
