Since the number of obsess children has been growing in years, more and more research are being done to help parents prevent their kids from being obese. A new research in Pediatrics showed that there are actually three steps to prevent obesity.
Here they are:
* Regularly eat the evening meal as a family (>5 nights per week).
* Ensure adequate nighttime sleep for your child on weekdays (≥10.5 hours per night).
* Limit screen-viewing (television, video, DVD) time on weekdays (≤2 hours/day).
When all these steps are taken, the study showed that the risk of being obese for 8,550 four-year-olds was lowered significantly—by 40 percent, to be exact. The study also compared the children with another set that did not take the three steps mentioned above.
With obesity now being a problem for parents in different parts of the globe, it is now time to take a look at your lifestyles and do the necessary changes for your family.
