McDonald's Joins Forces With Weight Watchers

McDonald’s in New Zealand will be posting the Weight Watchers Logo on their menus soon. According to Mcdo’s chief executive in New Zealand, the company’s new policy is for a “noble cause.”

The popular fastfood’s three meals: Chicken McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish and chicken wrap will all be labeled with the Weight Watchers Logo. The idea of the new policy is to make sure that the meals will only remain at 6.5 points in the nutrition scale. Staff has also been trained to be consistent in preparing the meals.

The meals being offered at McDonald’s New Zealand with a 6.5-weigth watcher’s point are:

* Filet-O-Fish, salad and diet drink / water
* Six chicken nuggets (with sauce), salad and diet drink / water
* Chicken wrap, medium diet drink / water

Some critics are saying that this could eventually kill the thrill of eating in a fastfood chain since binging on burgers and fries is absolutely the best reward you can give to yourself after a long day’s work.

This policy in New Zealand is a first but soon enough, McDonald’s Australia will follow.
