
It’s funny how much dieters are getting desperate these days that they resulted to this: Viking-like eating. Apparently, the latest diet is for peeps to eat like our friends in the Scandinavia border.
According to Professor Arne Astrup, an obesity expert in Copenhagen University’s Department of Human Nutrition, he believes that Nordic diet is perfect to keep us slim.
In a nutshell, the Viking diet is one that “Focuses on seasonal and local produce, and a balance of protein, carbohydrate and fat.” This diet consists of simple but varied combination of foods like oats and barley, berries, vegetables, fish, poultry and game.
Astrup said that relatively high protein can keep dieters full for a longer time. Compared with other Western countries, Scandinavia has a low obesity rate.
