
Some people believe that high-fructose corn syrup is just like any other table sugar while some also says that it is probably the most dangerous type of sugar out there. But a new research leaves us with something to discuss.
“Rats with access to high-fructose corn syrup gained significantly more weight than those with access to table sugar, even when their overall caloric intake was the same,” the study said. It also said that those with access to high-fructose corn syrup showed evidence of Metabolic Syndrome, abnormal weight gain, increase in circulating triglycerides and augmented fat deposition.
This study kind of confuses the natural belief that all calories have equal effects, especially on humans. And I can only leave this advice according to health experts: choose sucrose over high-fructose corn syrup.
