
Surprisingly, the US Food and Drug Adminstration (I just found out) have little jurisdiction to regulate bottled water in the country. While town waters are required to publish reports in water testing, bottled water companies, on the other hand, are not required to do so.
A recent report by the Environmental Working Group found that less than 2 percent of popular bottled waters in the country are revealing where they are getting the water, how it was being purified and the possible chemical pollutants it contain.
And unlike tap water, “bottled water doesn’t have to be tested by a certified laboratory.” They are also not required to inform customers within 24 hours…
