Some people just don’t realize how important is oral hygiene. So for those who are still in denial, better read up.

A research has just found out that omega 3 fatty acids, like those found in walnuts and seafoods, actually help reduce oral pathogens and mouth bacteria. In a journal called the Molecular Oral Microbiology, scientists said that omega 3 can stop the growth of nasty things like streptococcus mutans, Candida albicans and Porphyromonas ginigivalis.

In fact, even low doses of omega 3 can help, the scientists claimed.

From October to April, we can usually find these sweet citrus fruits on the market. They are first cultivated in China and Japan 3,000 years ago. They are smaller, less tart and easier to peel than the oranges.

When buying tangerines, make sure that you look for firm to slightly soft skin that are free of marks. They also must have bright orange hues. There are many varieties of tangerines—Clementine is the most popular of the fruit since it contains very few seeds, has dark orange peel and has a very sweet flavor. The Honey variety, on the other hand, is a cross breed between tangerines and oranges. They have many…

A research recently showed that a low-carb diet is much more effective than a low-fat diet and even against the drug, Xenical.

According to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, an experiment of 146 overweight participants (divided into two groups) for 48 months showed that the low-carb group marked a reduction in blood pressure, and also that 47 percent of the low-carb group reduced or discontinued their blood pressure medication.

Although both groups lost nearly 10 percent of their body weight and saw relative changes in their body weight, cholesterol level and blood sugar levels, it is still the low-carb group that reflected a more reasonable plumage of risk…

The famous fast food chain, McDonald’s, has just come out with their new McItaly burger. The company said the burger will stress out the flavors of Italy, although some people are disputing this fact. The burger is supposedly made from ingredients fresh from Italy as it has been launched under the slogan, “McDonald’s speaks Italian.”

However, this hamburger (described as “square, with artichoke sauce and Asiago cheese–or olive oil and pancetta”) created quite a number of reactions from foodies. According to Slow Food Site, the burger may not actually improve life for either its consumers or producers. It said that the company should be transparent on the ingredients it used to…
